Three Interior Styles That I Love Making Their Mark In 2026
Three Interior Styles That I Love Making Their Mark In 2026
After many decades in this business, I can tell you that trends come and go, but the ones that truly matter are the ones that make people feel better in their homes. In 2026, I am seeing three interior styles that do exactly that. They are thoughtful, soulful, and deeply connected to how we live and feel every day.
The first style I want to talk about is the return of curves and organic shapes. I began noticing this shift a few years ago in European design, and now it has firmly arrived here in the U.S., showing up in furniture, lighting, and accessories. Curved sofas, rounded tables, and softer silhouettes feel welcoming and human. These shapes invite you in. They encourage relaxation, movement, and a sense of ease.
That said, balance is still important. I always advise my clients to mix these softer lines with some clean, angular elements so the space feels grounded and intentional, not overly casual. When done well, the result is a room that feels both comfortable and quietly elegant.
Color is another area where I could not be more excited. Warm, earthy, saturated tones are making a strong comeback, and I say hooray to that. Color has an incredible ability to influence our mood, our energy, and our sense of comfort. For clients who feel nervous about color, I often suggest starting with one bold shade that really speaks to them and layering it with softer neutrals.
That one color can anchor the entire space. For those who are more adventurous, color drenching has become a wonderful option. Painting walls, ceilings, and trim in the same color, or gentle variations of it, creates a cozy, enveloping feeling that many people find incredibly calming.
The third style centers on texture and dramatic surfaces. I am seeing more natural stone, marble, and richly textured materials being used together, and I love the depth this creates. Texture adds warmth you can feel, not just see. The trick is to avoid going too heavy.
Pair bold surfaces with quieter furnishings and simpler shapes so the room can breathe. When textures are layered thoughtfully, the space feels balanced, nurturing, and timeless.
At the end of the day, good design is not just about how a home looks. It is about how it supports your life and how it makes you feel every time you walk through the door.
