Are You Planning a Kitchen Reno?

A couple of years ago, while working on a master bedroom project for some clients, they were complaining about the dysfunctionality of their existing kitchen and how it did not work for their family and busy lifestyles.

She worked very long hours at a very demanding job and was exhausted by the end of the day. Thankfully, he was a fantastic home cook after he returned from his day job, a role that he loved, but was frustrated with the lack of prep area and storage in their kitchen, as well as the poor lighting.

Does this sound familiar to your circumstances?

The solution – a carefully thought-out, budget-friendly kitchen remodel that kept the perimeter cabinets and just gave them a fresh coat of paint, while replacing the ridiculously small center island with an enormous one that had enough surface area to prep AND entertain at the same time, as well as customized storage features underneath.

Where there had been a small freestanding china cabinet in the breakfast area we added a full wall of cabinets to house his enormous collection of gadgets and appliances, with a counter to be the new landing zone, keeping the daily mail, homework, etc. off the center island.

Multiple layers of lighting were also added for function and aesthetics.

This family loves their “new” kitchen and has often said they wish they had done it sooner!
