Interior Design for your Heart and Mind

These clients love artisanal products, so in this great room I had a custom area rug done, made of wool and right here in the United States which is the best part! My intention was to create a curved footprint to anchor the new furniture and soften some of the angles of the house. This manifested exactly what I was going for which was an obvious welcoming energy for the vast space!
This is the room where everyone congregates as it is adjacent to an open kitchen. Having a lot of seating is essential. The large sectional sofa comfortably fits the family. With it angled in the corner, there is now a perfect home for that, custom, organic-inspired light fixture! Gosh I loved sourcing that one! The elegant glass globes are the best shape and softly echo the hues of the rug and fabrics just perfectly.
The barrel swivel chairs were also strategically chosen to get lots of action for both conversing and tv viewing. You’ll notice their fabric is deliberately similar to the floating ginkgo leaf pattern used in the front of the house, while the pattern flow prevents those wide, gradient stripes on the sofa from becoming too serious. And the energy continues with the base of the coffee table, undulating under its triangular glass top!
With my clients’ appreciation for bright and bold artwork, the furniture, paint and lighting were designed to create a harmonious palette, and support, but not compete with the art. But you know me… I needed a dash of visual sparkle before it felt complete. Hence the the metallic painted fabric of the armchair adds an unexpected bit of glam to this family friendly great room!
