Out of the Heat & Into the Cool

HOW TO MAKE YOUR EXTRA SPACE A PLACE TO REBOOT

The goal for this design project was to convert my client’s lower level into an awesome entertainment space to share with family and friends while reflecting their unique style. This client has a real passion for Disney, especially Mickey, so we incorporated their artwork with elements of his shape throughout the decor.

Functionality was a key driver for the design and every detail was crucial. The specifications for the custom cabinets were so precise, from the pull-out specialty liquor storage to the temp controlled recessed refrigeration. The wish list was a long one and included a sink, dishwasher, beverage fridge, ice maker, wine storage, microwave, liquor cabinet, pantry and storage. The challenge was to have it all with easy access but camouflaged and neatly hidden away. Mission accomplished!

We used the technical wizards at Summerhill Cabinets to custom build this gorgeous bar, and they even designed and built a custom flip-top console and serving table to match. The warm cherry cabinetry and table complements the colors of the cool grey walls and the furnishings which echo the red, white and blue found in the art.

This is a perfect example of a client showing me a picture, and then having us create something even more fabulous than the inspo. Right down to the double metal rails on the liquor cabinet pullouts, which were custom made by a local metal artist.
