Oh, how much do we all want more space ! I can’t tell you how many of my kitchen remodels start with the need for more space, namely— this kitchen rock star. The coolest part about islands now is how multi-functional they can be. This is the time baby! Appliance tetris as I call it, which determines the floor plan and cabinet layout. The range, exhaust (one of the most important appliances in the kitchen) and specialty cooking appliances, like a steam oven or a sous vide, are all part of the package. Let’s think of how to make daily cooking easier, better and a lot more fun, neater and more enjoyable.
TECHNOLOGY
This is where so many of my busy and very organized homeowners take things to the next level with performance and automation. Coffee grinding and brewing on their clock. Smartphone controlled oven start/stop. Automated dishwasher settings. Refrigerators that know more about what’s inside than you do! It’s all pretty comprehensive, and beyond amazing.
PANTRY ORGANIZATION
Again, one of my favorite kitchen riddles. Why? Because it’s less about all of the colors, and more about all of the order. Oftentimes my clients don’t realize HOW MUCH they can do with their pantry area(s). Ask me how we can take your existing space and convert it into additional pantry and storage!
ACCENT LIGHTING
Last, but most definitely NOT LEAST— lights, camera, ACTION! Different zones of the kitchen require different lighting. Specifying the proper lighting, hue, lumen, height, and accents for the kitchen can create spaces that are far more comfortable to use and entertain in. Designing your task lighting versus mood all come into play.
