The Art of the Vase

How do you like to display indoor living objects?

The art of the vase and how you chose to use it in your home is one of the oldest elements of home and office nesting. For centuries, the care takers of the home would plan the delivery of florals and leaves and arrange them as mood and sensory boosters. Placement and arrangements were something of which to be proud and in many cases reflected a certain status. Not only because they emitted a pleasant beauty and scent, but also because of what they were being contained in!

THE VASE

Once we acknowledge the desire to include plants, leaves, twigs and florals in our space, the next question is… what shall we put them in?

Let’s talk style

Both the vessel and its contents have a footprint. So what vibe do you want it to have?

Not every display of indoor nature needs to be feminine. The assumption from a lot of my male clients, is that keeping life indoors– is for the ladies. And I’m here to tell you, such is not the case!

See below for some eye candy as to how vases and nature can make quite the modern statement but even more importantly how they can compliment your interior as much as the furniture and paint!

Vases are so unique because they come in all shapes, materials and sizes. Consider doing a feature flower or twig in a bud vase, simply to call it out. Bouquets are not always needed. Think of how just a few individual elements can tell a story. Sometimes it only takes one leaf to cast a shadow onto a wall, and now it’s art! They breathe life into your home. Now enjoy the fun of selecting your vessel and that beautiful element that will enhance your setting.
